Editing  for audio
Audio issues

Just as we can offer design services leading to the production of a book, we can do just the same to help you with your audio files.

And just as with the books we help writers publish, every audio project is unique. So take these as guidelines. We can discuss the details with you.

Starting with your recording: (There are pages of advice on how to do this)

The sound editor need the sound file and your script. You should mark up your text with instructions such as ‘insert sound of door slamming’ or background birdsong would suggest the countryside’ so that the editor can find a suitable effect.

The services start with editing your file

Editing removes small problems with the file
Editing can insert sound effects and atmospheric sounds often called ‘wild track’
Editing might include having an announcer introduce the work.
If you have musical friends then get them to record some background music, but please make sure that the music is original or well out of copyright.

But we can have the file read or even performed for you

This is altogether more ambitious and expensive.
Some voices work much better than others. Actors are trained to read well and can ‘perform’ with their voice to give your work drama. We have a range of voices as many actors undertake voice work.
If you have a play, or you want to prepare a sample of your work, we have producers who can work with you to realise this dream.
